सोचा था न करेंगे किसी से दोस्ती,
न करेंगे किसी से वादा, पर क्या करे दोसत मिला इतना प्यारा की करना पड़ा दोस्ती का वादा

वो इश्क़ जो हम से रूठ गया अब उस का हाल बतायेँ क्या कोई मेहर नहीं कोई क़हर नहीं फिर सच्चा शेर सुनायेँ क्या इक हिज्र जो हम को लाहक है ता देर उसे दोहरायेँ क्या वो ज़हर जो दिल में उतार लिया फिर उस के नाज़ उठायेँ क्या इक आग ग़म-ए-तन्हाई की जो सारे बदन में फैल गई जब जिस्म ही सारा जलता हो फिर दामन-ए-दिल को बचायेँ क्या हम नग़्मासरा कुछ ग़ज़लों के हम सुरतगर कुछ ख़्वाबों के बेजज़्बा-ए-शौक़ सुनायेँ क्या कोई ख़्वाब न हो तो बतायेँ क्या
